The stock coolant overflow hose
runs from the top of the overflow tank downward and empties out in
front of the rear tire. This is a safety hazard for obvious
reasons. I replaced my stock overflow hose with a four foot section of 3/8" fuel line. Instead of routing yet another hose through the engine bay, I routed the overflow hose through the wheel well as shown below.
The hose is held in place by a pair of nylon hose straps which are bolted to the inner fender wall with small, black machine screws
The hose ends behind and to the left of the rear tire just above the muffler as show below. If there is an overflow, the liquid coolant will fall onto the muffler then vaporize into a large, obvious cloud to alert me to trouble.
